Our new story will be  Mr. Tanen’s Tie Trouble.

Abraham Lincoln- led our country when it was divided by slavery

Harriet Tubman- rescued slaves through the underground railroad

Helen Keller- she was blind and deaf, but proved she could read, write, and speak

George Washington Carver- scientist known as the “Plant Doctor” –“Peanut Man”

Rosa Parks- she refused to give up her bus seat, she worked to stop segregation

Sacagawea- person who helped Lewis and Clark explore the west

Jackie Robinson- worked hard to allow individuals to play baseball regardless of race

Martin Luther King Jr.- worked to change unfair laws, wrote “I Have A Dream” speech

Lewis and Clark- explored the west

Orville and Wilber Wright- people from Ohio who built and flew the 1st airplane

Amelia Earhart- first woman pilot to fly across the Atlantic Ocean
